Christmas Saving Tips

It's finally fall! Halloween is here, next is Thanksgiving, then...uh oh, it's already Christmas!  Fall and winter always seem to come so quickly!  But you should start thinking about saving for Christmas now.  After all, you don't want to rack up debt during the jolliest time of the year.

Christmas Saving and Spending Tips

  1. A big HUGE number uno is to start early!  You should aim to save about $20-50 per week.  The earlier you start, the less you need to save per week.
  2. Set a budget!  Line out an overall budget, plus a budget for each person you have to shop for.  This will help you not overspend and keep track of where your money is going.
  3. Go through your stuff!  A great tip is to earn some money.  An easy way to do this is to purge your belongings and take what you don't want to a second hand store.  So easy!
  4. Shop the sales!  Yes, even the infamous Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  But, also, shop sales year round.  It's never too early to start.
  5. Save on wrapping paper and gift bags by stocking up at the dollar stores.  They have great stocking stuffers too!
  6. Try out a Christmas game at your extended family Christmas gathering!  Instead of everyone spending a ton of money on each other, try playing a Christmas exchange game with a $10-20 gift.
